Emily crompton

 Emily joined URBED after graduating from Manchester School of Architecture, where she studied both at undergraduate level and B.Arch, for which she gained a distinction. Whilst on the course her research focussed on community participation, alternatvie forms fo architectural practice, and architectrual education. Through this she gained a strong interest in engaging with the wider public about projects and architectural education in general.

Emily is a regular associate lecturer on the postgraduate BA Hons Architecture course at Manchester School of Architecture, where she teaches first year students. She has contributed an essay to an MSAp publication and retrospectivie exhibitions. She is also an ambassador for placed, a not-for-profit company which delivers tailer made workshops for 11-18 year-olds outside of the school environment, an Academy of Urbanism Academician, a Local Area Coordinator, and organised the 4x4; A Human City and 4x4 Reunion lecture series in Manchester.

Emily is now coordinating a research project at Manchester School of Architecture at MMU, and is currently helping to set up the URBED Trust and remains a close friend of the core practice.
